Who we are

Farm Lab is a NanoSkool Education app at farm.nanoskool.com. You sign in with your NanoSkool account, which is shared with the other NanoSkool apps; each app keeps its own data.

What we collect

For everyone: your name, how you sign in (email or phone), and what you do in Farm Lab.

For students: your birth month and year (for the age and consent rules), your grows, plant diary, sensor readings, lesson results and milestones, and, once consent is in place, the plant photos you add and your Farm Coach conversations.

We do not collect medical, allergy, diet, weight or other health information. Please don't put it in diary notes.

Children and consent

Under 18, a student can grow, keep a text diary and do lessons. Plant photos, the Farm Coach and devices open only after a parent or guardian gives verifiable consent (text version farmlab-dpdp-2026-11-v1), or a teacher records that the school holds signed parental consent. We record who consented, when, and what they agreed to. A parent can withdraw consent at any time in Family settings.

The Farm Coach (AI)

The Farm Coach runs on Claude, made by Anthropic, a processor outside India. It receives what it needs to answer: the student's first name, their grows and diary notes, and a plant photo only when the student chooses to share one. It gives guidance, never diagnoses, and never recommends chemicals. Conversations are kept so families can see them and so we can check the Coach is safe.

Sensors are approximate

Readings from home and classroom sensors are not laboratory measurements. Farm Lab compares them with typical ranges to help students learn; it does not control pumps, lights or dosing.

Who can see what

A student and their parents see that student's farm. Teachers see the grows, diaries, photos and milestones of students in their own classes, but never private reflections. There are no public leaderboards. NanoSkool staff see accounts and the audit log for support and safety.

No ads, no tracking

We show no advertising, run no behavioural tracking and do not sell or share data for marketing. We do not train AI models on children's data.

Your rights

A parent can download the family's data, withdraw consent, or delete the family's farm records from Family settings. Deleting removes them permanently, except what the law requires us to keep.

Where it is stored

On NanoSkool's servers, encrypted in transit. Backups are kept for seven days.
